Die Kontakte zu unseren Chorgästen sind in den letzten Monaten nicht abgerissen. Daher war es selbstverständlich, sich nach dem Befinden unserer Freunde zu erkundigen. Die Nachrichten sind einerseits beruhigend, weil von den Chormitgliedern niemand zu Schaden gekommen ist. Anderseits wird aber auch das Elend der Leute geschildert, die ihr Heim durch die Flutkatastrophe verloren haben.

In der Jahresabschlussmesse um 17.00 Uhr in Salvator werden wir für die Opfer beten und die Kollekte diesem Zweck widmen. Wir würden uns freuen, wenn möglcihst viele derjenigen, die Chorgäste aufgenommen hatten, sich in Salvator einfinden könnten, also der Kirche, wo die Chöre uns einige Lieder präsentiert hatten.Spenden können auch in den Pfarrbüros gegen Spendenquittung abgegeben werden.

Dear Pat,It has been so moving to hear from so many people from distant lands, all having o­ne desire to see that we are all safe and well. God indeed has given to you all such warm and caring hearts. The devastation around us is absolutely overwhelming. My daughter Marissa and a few friends have gone with provisions to the southern part of the country, where the damage is quite extensive. She comes back tonight. … .Some of my friends and I have visited sites where and it is so sad to see the loss suffered by so many. The images o­n the TV are really o­nly a small cross-section of what is happening over here. The undertakers have run out of coffins and places to store the dead. I truly believe that God has woken us all up from our slumber. We have forgotten our God and He has shaken us up to remind us who He is in control.Please pray for our country. In the long term we need housing for these poor families. Hopefully the world could get together and provide homes for the poor.
